The Pani Poni Dash Show! is an anime TV series and a reboot of the anime series "Pani Poni Dash!" which airs in syndication and on some other networks lasting for 3 seasons and 39 episodes. Both the original japanese and english voice cast return for this anime. The first season was made by both SHAFT and WB Animation Japan. Unlike its predecessor, each episode usually consisted of a new 8 minute short followed by two shorts from Azumanga Tunes, and a hip clip from another Azumanga Tunes short.

For the second and third season, aside from SHAFT continuing with the show, they brung in Kyoto Animation to make the last two seasons. In addition to a new Pani Poni Dash short each episode contained an uncredited "Intelligence Club News" segment, featuring Hibiki Watanuki, Akira Miyata, and Yuzuko Kurusu (the third season replaces the segments with a hip clip from an Azumanga Tunes short). Each episode also contained an Azumanga Tunes short. Finally, one made-for-TV Pani Poni Dash short from the first or second season were also rebroadcast during each second and third-season episode.

Plot[]

The anime keeps its style from the previous series Pani Poni Dash!, but instead the show is more of a Ren & Stimpy-esc show rather than source material making fun of pop culture. Each short mainly features the main characters from Class 1-C. In the second and third season, the supporting cast from Classes 1-A, 1-B, and 1-D would later be in their own shorts.

Cameos[]

Because that WB Animation Japan made the first season, it has cameos of WB Animation characters popping out of nowhere like the Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, and Hanna-Barbera cartoon characters. But then they were removed for the second and third season of the anime when Kyoto Animation took over.

Sound Effects[]

The first season's supervising sound editor is "Hiromune Kurahashi" (the sound editor for anime series such as Girls Bravo and DN Angel). He would use the same sound effects heard in Ren & Stimpy containing heavy amount of Hanna-Barbera and Looney Tunes sounds.

The second and third seasons replaces Hiromune with "Yuichi Furuichi" (the sound editor of Ouran High School Host Club). Unlike the first season, the last 2 seasons use more realistic sounds with a few cartoon sounds from Hanna-Barbera, Warner Bros., and Disney. For some odd reason, the Series 4000 sounds (from Sound Ideas) are used more than the other cartoon sounds.

Eiko Morikawa would later be added as the second sound editor for the third season and where he would add additional anime sounds in addition to the sound effects Yuichi was using.
