Captain N/Super Smash Bros. Differences

Megaman:

  1. Captain N: He was green, acted more robotic than he was suppose to act, sounded like "Popeye after smoking an entire Marlboro factory", and peppered his speech with the word "Mega". And Roll was called Megagirl, though wearing pink armor with her blond hair sticking out and being Megaman's somewhat "sweetheart"-like role.
  2. Super Smash Bros: He acts almost like his classic counterpart, except for the fact that he at least puts effort into saving lives and helping people. Also, Roll is Megaman's sister (though she does have a secret crush on him) and sometimes, the name Rock is heard being called to her brother along with the fact Megaman has a rival called Bass.

Simon Belmont:

  1. Captain N: He was dark skinned, looked more like his old actor that played him in the series, was egotistic, and had a huge crush on Princess Lana.
  2. Super Smash Bros: Simon has lighter skin and more serious as he tries to do what he believes is right.

Mario Series:

  1. Captain N: Aside from a brief mention by Kevin, neither characters from the Mario franchise made an appearance.
  2. Super Smash Bros: The Mario Bros. play prominent and important roles in the series, such as their origins and game adaptions with Bowser being a reccurring main antagonist alongside.

Donkey Kong Series:

  1. Captain N: Donkey Kong was nothing more than a giant ape that goes rampant on anyone that comes across the jungle much like the first game he came in.
  2. Super Smash Bros: Donkey Kong is more like his Donkey Kong Country incarnation, though he does retain some of his mischievous ways from the TV show alongside the fact there were times he had a crush on Paulina, a friend of Mario & Luigi.

Kid Icarus Series:

  1. Captain N: He was named Kid Icarus, is a midget, uses different arrows, has red hair, and says things with the word "icus" at the end of each sentence.
  2. Super Smash Bros: Here, he is named Pit, is a teenager who is the guardian of a powerful goddess, and can use the bow more like daggers or a double edged sword. Also enemies other than Eggplant Wizard from this series appear more as of Palutena.

Legend of Zelda:

  1. Captain N/Legend of Zelda: The series was played a bit like an adventure game where Link would occasionally want a kiss from Zelda, is a bit snobby, and Ganon is more like a pig-faced wizard than Gerudo thief.
  2. Super Smash Bros: Here, there are different incarnations of Link and Zelda, particularly, the main Link, Zelda, and Gannondorf himself being from the Twilight Princess era, the child versions of Link and Zelda from the Ocarina of Time (as well as Saria, serving as an alternate Young Link's partner and love interest), and the Toon Link and Toon Zelda/Tetra being from the Wind Waker, which according to this series, is an alternate dimension. However, Skyward Sword incarnations of Link and Zelda have minor appearances. Vaati from The Minish Cap and Ghirahim from Skyward Sword also appear as Ganondorf's subordinates.

Pokémon:

  1. Pokémon Anime: Basically, this is the sequel to the actual series (before Black & White came to existence).
  2. Super Smash Bros: The main Pokémon humans along with Team Rocket play prompt roles in this series, with Ash and his friends particularly hanging with Kevin and Mario the most.

Mother Brain:

  1. Captain N: Mother Brain is a trash-talking, abusive, bragging female super villain with a grotesque human-like face and large lips. She also has a deep, sassy male-like voice.
  2. Super Smash Bros.: Here, Mother Brain is a cold, ruthless organic super computer that appears as a oversized brain with metallic spikes protruding from her "head" and power cords that restrict her to her chamber; along with a single massive eyeball with a red iris. Like, the Captain N Mother Brain, she has a male voice, but is more eerily monotone in comparison. She is also a secondary antagonist.

Punch Out Series:

  1. Captain N: Only King Hippo was brought up while turning his skin blue for no apparent reason, plus Lil' Mac, according to some fans, believed he was remade as Kevin Keene.
  2. Super Smash Bros: Both King Hippo and Lil' Mac along with the other Punch Out cast make their appearance here.

Metroid Series:

  1. Captain N: Though not appearing in the TV show itself, Samus did appear in the comics while both she and Lana both compete for Kevin's affections. Also, Ridley is designed like how he was in the NES version.
  2. Super Smash Bros: Her background from the game is pretty much the same, plus Ridley is massive and gigantic while he serves as one of the major antagonists with Mother Brain being the secondary antagonist.

Sonic Series:

  1. Sonic Series: Basically, a sequel to the Sonic SatAM Remake & Sonic X Remake series.
  2. Super Smash Bros: This is the semi-sequel to the upcoming series, Sonic X Remake which takes place after the end of the Sonic Heroes Adaption.

Kirby Series:

  1. Kirby: Right Back At Ya!: Basically, this is the prequel to the Super Smash Bros. anime series.
  2. Super Smash Bros: After Nightmare is done with for now, Kirby and friends encounter with Mario, which would lead them to many adventures to come.

Mother Series

  1. Mother Games: The prequels to the anime.
  2. Super Smash Bros: The major characters all appear. Ness plays an important role in the series, and is often accompanied by Paula. Unlike EarthBound, where there were hints of romance between the two, the anime makes them a pre-established couple. Also, Pokey is absent (said to have been killed by Ness), and Claus is not the Masked Man. Yet.

Trivia

  • The Super Smash Bros Anime is essentially a remake of the actual Captain N series, though with better animation, more elaborate plots, and complex character development. Not to mention, characters from famous video game franchises that previously appeared in Captain N (e.g. Simon Belmont, Pit, and Mega Man) are much more faithful to their original designs and characteristics.
  • Unlike the actual series, Samus plays bigger roles in different tales and the Marios appear in this version.
  • And also unlike the actual series, many game-related characters make appearances (if minor cameos).
  • This series will be contributed with other authors for writers of this series.
