Bloody Sonata is an anime that was written, directed, and created by Akira Jotaro who also created the anime King of the Red Moon, Rusty Sky, and Red Eyes.
The story takes place in medieval Europe where cases and rumors of vampires are spreading all over the continent and vampire hunters are in every country. The story is about a rogue vampire hunter who wanders around the continent looking for monster slaying jobs and meets with a woman who who has the same power he does.
Plot[]
Noah Lunel is a vampire hunter who used to be part of a guild known as the Moon Killers but was kicked out because he broke so many of their weapons, now he travels across the continent as a monster slaying mercenary. One day, Noah was hired by a village elder to protect his village from an incoming vampire raid that he had predicted; when the vampires had came to the village at night that day, Noah was the only person left in the village and was immidiately attacked. Now that Noah's job had began, he took out his swords and slew a fraction of the vampires, but his swords then broke after one of the vampires snatched them away; now that his swords were broken, he took out his halberd and slew another fraction of the remaining vampires. There were still very many vampires left, but Noah had gotten frustrated with the numbers of the vampires and then put away his halberd and took out a black violin with a blue rose design below the strings; Noah then started to play the violin and the vampires stopped, then, the vampires started to explode into ashes as he continues playing the violin. In the end, Noah had slain all of the vampires and was rewarded for his services by the village elder. Now that his job in the village was done, Noah went to the city for work and bumped into a girl with a white violin with a red rose design under the strings named Serah Sola and became friends with her after finding out that they were both Blood Orchestra violinists and were headed to the same direction. As the story continues, Noah and Sola are both hired by a man named Bemonst McSolis and to save people from monsters threatening the world.
Blood Orchestra[]
An old group of special humans with the power to destroy monsters using music instruments such as violins, pianos, or drums. According to their history, the Blood Orchestra was disbanded after most of the members were killed by their last leader, whom some believe was bitten by a vampire, and others believe was for a darker reason. Noah and Serah are two of the last few remaining people of the Blood Orchestra and are both violinists.

Noah Lunel[]
- A 20 year-old man who used to be part of the Moon Killers, a very famous vampire hunting guild. He is now a travelling mercenary who searches for bounties and jobs to kill monsters. He is very skilled in weaponry but favors his halberd because it is the only weapon he ever used that didn't break besides his violin. He is voiced by Tatsuhisa Suzuki.
Serah Sola[]
- An 18 year-old girl who loves music and dreams to compose a song for the world to hear. She is a vampire hunter because it is the only job that she knows how to do well, otherwise she would've done something else. She only knows how to play her violin to kill monsters and does not know how to fight them in any other way. She is voiced by Fumiko Orikasa.

- The former assisstant and mistress to King Dracula who turned him into a vampire and blamed him for the monster outbreaks. She is a beautiful woman who looks as if she is in her mid 20s and is also great in acting. She has a lust for humans no matter of gender and will often drink their blood if she likes them unless she wants to play with them more. She is voiced by Megumi Toyoguchi.
